Aquaculture & Drainage Solutions
Fish ponds, shrimp tanks and site drainage all depend on moving large volumes of water on demand — often from a source that is below the pump. FORWATER builds submersible, deep well, multistage centrifugal and high-flow booster pumps for exactly these duties.
Typical Duties
| Duty | Typical requirement | Recommended FORWATER range |
|---|---|---|
| Pond filling & top-up | High flow at low–moderate head | SCM200-E (150 L/min) |
| Tank / pond transfer | Steady flow, continuous duty | Multistage centrifugal range |
| Pumping from borehole or well | Deep suction, sustained delivery | Submersible & deep well pumps |
| Site drainage & dewatering | High flow, tolerant of dirty water | Submersible range |
| Circulation & aeration feed | Moderate flow, low head | Pool / circulation pumps |
Sizing Notes for Water Transfer
- Volume first — decide how fast the pond or tank must be filled or emptied (m³/h or L/min)
- Then head — discharge height plus pipe friction; wide pipes reduce friction significantly
- Source depth — a suction-lift pump handles up to about 9 m; deeper sources need a submersible pump
- Solids — for dirty or silty water choose a submersible drainage pump rather than a clean-water model
Recommended Models
- SCM150-E / SCM200-E — 130–150 L/min high-flow booster pumps with 50 mm ports
- Submersible & deep well pumps — for wells and boreholes, and drainage duty
- Multistage centrifugal range — steady pressure for transfer and circulation lines
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a clean-water booster for a silty pond?
It will not last. Abrasive solids wear impellers and seals quickly — use a submersible drainage pump designed for dirty water, or fit effective pre-filtration.
How do I empty a pond quickly?
Match the flow to the pond volume: a 100 m³ pond emptied in 4 hours needs about 25 m³/h (roughly 415 L/min) at the working head. Tell us the numbers and we will match a pump or a multi-pump arrangement.
Is continuous running a problem?
Choose a model rated for continuous duty rather than a domestic unit, and keep the motor cool and clear of debris. Share your duty cycle with us and we will confirm.
